A real-talk mental health check-in — in language that makes sense on and off the mountain.
What is the Vibe Check?
Some days you drop in feeling locked, loose and dialled. Other days the conditions are rough, your head's not right, and nothing flows. That's not weakness — that's being human. The question is: do you know where you're at right now?
Steady moods. Good energy. Showing up. This is your green run — conditions are great, you're riding well and life feels manageable.
Something's shifted. You're still riding but it's not flowing. Irritable, lower energy, skipping things you'd normally enjoy. Worth paying attention to.
It's heavy. Anger, anxiety, withdrawing from people, not sleeping. This isn't just a rough day — something needs real attention right now.
Running on empty. You can't do the basic stuff and everything feels impossible. You deserve real support — and it's available right now.
Mental health isn't fixed. You can go from STOKED to STRUGGLING — and back again. The key is catching where you're at early enough to do something about it before it gets worse.
Most people don't realise they've drifted until they're deep in the red. A regular check-in — even a 60-second one — can be the difference between catching it early and letting it build.
Every zone has a move. Sometimes it's just staying active. Sometimes it's talking to someone. Sometimes it's getting professional help. Knowing your zone means you know your next step.
The Jamie Blain Memorial Foundation built this tool for the snowboard community — because snowboarding teaches us that conditions change, wipeouts happen, and you always get back up.
No account. No judgment. No wrong answers. Just an honest look at where you're at — and what to do about it.
